Great news from Benalla! FCJ College Benalla has just opened its new state-of-the-art multi-purpose hall on 24th March 2021. This project has been made possible by a generous donation from the FCJ sisters to mark the bicentenary of the FCJ Society (1820-2020). 2020 also marked 120 years of the FCJ sisters being involved in education in Benalla.
The building was designed after an extensive consultation process with students and staff. In the words of Principal Joanne Rock, „the architects were great in translating all of our requests into some fabulous designs. Then the builders were able to translate that into the building. The result is fantastic. The students are amazed, they are amazed and in awe, they love it. It’s like something they never expected we’d have in our community, so we’re delighted with the results.”
At the end of the event, the school captains presented gifts featuring the artwork on the front of the hall to the FCJ sisters in attendance.
