Jiena soru Ġiżwita, nagħmel parti mill-FCJ: Faithful Companions of Jesus. Hija kongregazzjoni Injazzjana. Meta kont l-Università ta' Malta, kont midħla ħafna tal-Ġiżwiti. Kien jaffaxxinani l-ħsieb u l-ħajja spiritwali tagħhom għax hija spiritwalità pprattikata. U jiena persuna prattika. Għalhekk iddeċidejt li nfittex u nsib kongregazzjoni tas-sorijiet li jgħixu fuq l-istess spiritwalità. Kont sibt li hemm kongregazzjoni Londra, mort u għamilt in-novizzjat hemm.Ta' 23 sena tlaqt minn Malta u mort nagħmel esperjenza ta' komunità. Meta ltqajt mas-sorijiet ta' FCJ ħassejtni milqugħa, ħassejt li dak hu posti. Kelli ħafna mħabba hawn Malta mill-familja u għalhekk, ir-riskju ħadtu għax kont naf li jekk l-esperjenza tiegħi ma tirnexxix, se niġi lura u jilqgħuni.Dejjem xtaqt ngħallem ukoll u għalhekk, waqt li kont qiegħda hemm, għamilt il-PGCE biex inkun nista' ngħallem għax mal-Masters li diġa' kelli fil-Matematika hawn Malta, ridt bilfors nagħmel kors ta' sena hemmhekk. Għamilt żmien twil ngħallem il-Matematika f'Liverpool, skola li hija ta' FCJ. Jiena ridt li l-full-time tiegħi jkun il-vokazzjoni ta' soru Injazzjana. Dis-sena nagħlaq 20 sena minn meta għamilt l-ewwel voti. M'għandix uniformi bħal sorijiet oħra li forsi naraw madwarna. Jien inħeġġeġ tfajliet Maltin biex jekk togħġobhom l-ispiritwalità Injazzjana, ifittxu li jagħmlu esperjenza: www.fcjsisters.orgJekk inħares lura ninnota li għamilt ħafna affarijiet li ma kontx naħseb li qatt se nagħmel. Jiena kuntenta ħafna li għażilt din it-triq. Kuntenta wkoll li bdejt f'eta' żgħira. Issa se mmur il-Kanada, nistudja l-eko-teoloġija. Għax tajjeb li wieħed jifhem li l-ispiritwalita' Injazzjana fiha tinvolvi oqsma bħal ekoloġija, ambjent, u ġustizzja soċjali. Il-fidi tista’ tbiddel il-qlub, anki fejn jidħol l-ambjent. Il-pjan hu li mmur lura l-Ingilterra u nagħti workshops fuq il-ħtieġa ta' kif nistgħu nieħdu ħsieb iktar l-ambjent. Imma nħalli f'idejn il-Mulej biex jurini xi jrid minni." - Sister Maryanne_The People of Malta, bis-sapport ta’ Agenda Bookshop 📚www.agendabookshop.com✠ ✠ ✠"If only people knew how interesting, full of happiness and satisfaction our life is, we would have people queuing at our doorstep to join us. I am a Jesuit nun and part of the FCJ: Faithful Companions of Jesus. It is an Ignatian congregation. Whilst attending the University of Malta I frequented the Jesuit community. I was fascinated by their way of thinking and their spirituality because it is an immensely practical type of spirituality. And I am a practical person. That is why I decided to find a community of nuns who live the same spirituality. I had found out that there was such a community in London so I spent my novitiate there.I left Malta at the age of 23 for a community experience. When I met the FCJ nuns I felt welcome, I felt I had found my place. I was very much loved by my family in Malta and that is why I was willing to take the risk, because I knew that if my experience did not have a positive outcome I could return to their open arms. I always wanted to teach so while I was there I obtained my PGCE so I could teach because together with my Masters in Mathematics in Malta, I needed to follow a year's course there. I taught Maths in Liverpool in an FCJ school for a very long time. I wanted my vocation of an Ignation nun to be full-time. This year will be my 20th year since taking my first vows. I do not wear a uniform like other nuns you might see. I encourage young Maltese girls who are drawn to the Ignatian spirituality to try and experience this: www.fcjsisters.orgWhen I look back I realize that I have done a lot of things I would have thought were impossible for me to do. I am very happy I chose this road. I am also happy that I started my journey at a young age. I am now travelling to Canada to study eco-theology. It is good to know that the Ignatian spirituality involves sectors like ecology, environment and social justice. Faith can change hearts, even where the environment is concerned. The plan is to return to England and give workshops on the need to find ways to take better care of the environment. But I leave it in God's hands to decide what He wants from me." - Sister Maryanne__The People of Malta supported by: Agenda Bookshop 📚www.agendabookshop.com
