Each year, the Catholic School Office of the Diocese of Providence, Rhode Island, USA offers the ‘Distinguished Principal Award’ to a school principal who exemplifies the beliefs and values of Catholic school leadership. On 27 April 2018, Daniel J. Ferris, Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Providence, presented this award to Brian Cordeiro, principal of St Philomena School FCJ, Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
Warm congratulations were offered to Brian, who has worked in Catholic education for over seventeen years and is now in his third year at Saint Philomena’s. Imelda Toomey fcJ, members of the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff and students, attended the presentation ceremony, and all prayed that the school would continue to succeed and grow in courage and confidence under Brian’s leadership.
