Tea Party Progress Report

The FCJ Christian Life Centre in Calgary recenyly hosted their annual Tea Party fundraising event. The event was a great success and in their latest newsletter they want to acknowledge the help and support received.

Dear FCJ Christian Life Centre Friends,
Greetings of peace and joy! On behalf of FCJ Centre, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks for your presence and generous support at our recent tea party event.

We’re truly grateful for the support from our 17 dedicated volunteers, 14 hardworking staff, 13 FCJ sisters, 6 generous donors of silent auction items, and 12 silent auction bidders, 69 participants for our 50/50 raffle, 141 attendees, and those who purchased items from our food and non-food sales. We extend our heartfelt gratitude as well to the 30 donors for their invaluable contributions. Your presence and generosity made it a day to remember.

We raised significant funds for our washroom and flooring renovations because of your generosity.

Last year, we held a successful tea party and raised the target of $25,000 to contribute to the $161,193.85 bathroom renovation project. Thank you for your help, and a special thanks to the Government of Alberta and the FCJ Society for this matching donation. Please read more about the report HERE.

This year, we aim to raise $30,000 through this fundraising event to help the Centre upgrade the majority of our 45-year-old toilets with eco-friendly models. In August, we installed two sample toilets, reducing water usage from 13 liters to just 4.8 liters per flush. Most of our current toilets are 14 to 15 inches high, and we plan to replace them with 17-inch comfort-height models for added ease and accessibility. Along with these upgrades, we will also be replacing the aging flooring in the washrooms. These improvements will hopefully help reduce leaks, conserve water, and enhance the comfort of our guests. The total cost of the 52 toilets and washroom flooring renovation project is $83,000. Your support ensures the FCJ Centre remains a welcoming and sustainable Centre for all.

Once again, thank you for your unwavering support.
