The second day of the Chapter gathering, 14th October, was dedicated to two Reports to Chapter. The first was On the Life, Mission and Government of the Faithful Companions of Jesus given by Sr Claire Sykes fcJ, General Superior, whilst the second Report was the Financial Report of the Faithful Companions of Jesus given by Sr Mary Fitzpatrick fcJ, General Bursar.
Sr Claire and the leadership team, Barbara Brown-Graham fcJ, Joanna Walsh fcJ and Patricia Binchy fcJ, gave a comprehensive account of the Society’s fidelity to its life and mission for the last six years.
This Report describes the love and service of a small group of faith-filled, consecrated women scattered across several countries…This Report attempts a realistic description of our present reality, of the love and service given to God’s people over these last six years and of our evolving life together as consecrated women.
At the end of the Report Sr Claire and her assistants were given a standing ovation in appreciation of the outstanding work they have done over the last six years.
In the afternoon Sr Mary presented the Financial Report. It was amazing to hear Sr Mary present her report in terms of how our human, material and financial resources combine in service of the life and mission of the Society. The delegates expressed whole hearted appreciation for the human and compassionate face that Sr Mary brought to a six year financial report.
