The FCJ sisters in Turin and St Mauro organised a concert with Passi di Danza and Squarci to mark the FCJ Bicentenary 1820-2020.
In spite of the dramatic events related to the coronavirus, we don’t want to forget a very significant moment which we have lived in the parish church of S. Benedetto in S. Mauro Saturday 15th February: the Concert with Passi di Danza and Squarci on our foundress, Marie Madeleine d’Houët, and the FCJ Society on the occasion of the FCJ Bicentenary. The replicas of this event in the churches of the Gran Madre di Dio and Reaglie in Turin have been postponed for the moment.
The concert lasted about two hours and has been a very intense and meaningful moment; surely Marie Madeleine has become more alive and real by conquering the hearts of those present.
Fourty young people and adults together between choristers, musicians, dancers and readers passed on to us, with enthusiasm and joy, the virtues and abilities of this great woman, our Foundress, and the spreading of the FCJ Society using a text prepared with care and precision and hymns carrying deep messages of joy and trust in God.
Those present – parishioners, friends, acquaintances, Companions in Mission, and 8 FCJ sisters, including visitors Sr. Gloria and Sr. Imelda – participated with great attention and reverent silence and gave a beautiful standing ovation which they truly deserved.
Very impressed and grateful for all that we have lived during those two hours each FCJ present offered a beautiful rose and the booklet The Fidelity of God to each of the performers (choir, musicians, dancers and readers). We then met in the parish hall for refreshments with our friends and choristers among whom were former parents, animators and young people that we knew very well.
The aim of highlighting the presence of Jesus in the life of Marie Madeleine and our commitment to continue in her footsteps was well attained. DEO GRATIAS!
