With the start of the Jubilee Year I have been reflecting on Hope, and in particular what does it mean to be a pilgrim of hope.
A pilgrim is ON THE WAY… not arrived at the destination, perhaps a little unsure of how the journey will unfold. I too am on the way. I am naturally optimistic, and more significantly I am hopeful, and yet my hope can be knocked down and a little trampled underfoot at times.
At the start of this year I am setting out again, I am letting hope be my guide, letting hope be the light ahead, and, acknowledging the challenges, I am wiling to take a step of faith.
My first action: to act hopefully towards the living things (human and other) that I meet in my everyday life. I will trust that they intend my good, and I will act in a way that shows I intend only good for them too.
