Every year Caritas Australia have a Lenten Campaign, Project Compassion, to raise funds for their support for development work in different parts of the world.
This year featured in the campaign is the story of Ronita who is a former student of the Alternative Learning System Program run by the FCJ Learning and Development Center in Metro Manila. After the birth of her children, 22-year-old Ronita was at risk of having to leave school permanently. But with the support of this project she resumed her studies and now has a job to support her family.
Her story is one of courage and perseverance and of hope that there is always a second chance if you are willing to strive for it.
