On 7 and 8 September, Srs MaryAnne and Anouska were present at Adoremus, the first National Eucharistic Congress for England and Wales since 1908.
On the Friday we spent the day at St. Patrick’s Church (a Church FCJs have a long connection with since our arrival in Liverpool in the 1840s). We gathered with other religious congregations offering the opportunity for pilgrims to come and see different forms of religious life and attend workshops. MaryAnne lead two workshops on Praying with the Imagination and Discernment.
On the Saturday we were based in the ACC, part of the Echo Arena in Liverpool, where we welcomed 850 young people who came to the Youth Congress (#AdoremusYouth2018). We interacted with them as they arrived, and made contact with people from across the country as well as spending time with them in the talks and worship sessions. As ‘women of the Church’s it was good to be together and part of such an important national event of the Church in this country. We ended the day attending a re-telling of The Prodigal Son by Frank and Denise Cottrell-Boyce accompanied by Ukelele Uff and The Soul Sanctuary Choir. A beautiful end to a great day.
