As part of the FCJ Bicentenary celebrations, and to mark the 175th anniversary of the opening of the FCJ schools at Laurel Hill in 1844 by the FCJ foundress Marie Madeleine d’Houët at the behest of the Bishop of Limerick, Laurel Hill Coláiste FCJ will host an education conference on Women in Education.
Laurel Hill Coláiste – Saturday, 29th February from 9:30 to 4:30 pm.
Laurel Hill Schools (Laurel Hill Coláiste FCJ and Laurel Hill Secondary School FCJ), together with their sister schools in the FCJ international network of educational establishments, form part of a continuum of excellence in Christian education for girls throughout the generations.
The FCJ Women in Education Conference will celebrate the longstanding legacy and invaluable contribution of the FCJ Sisters to the education of women and girls both at home and abroad. The conference will also focus on the evolution of the FCJ tradition of excellence in education in the 21st Century School and provide a forum for discussion on the key issues in girls’ education as we look to the future.
Conference includes Keynote Speaker DR. Niamh Hourigan MIC, a panel discussion, and a Mass of Thanksgiving.
Tickets for the event are free and are available online via Eventbrite or laurelhillcolaistefcj.ie.
This event is part of the celebrations of the bicentenary of the foundation of the Sisters Faithful Companions of Jesus (1820-2020). Follow our bicentenary celebrations on the Bicentenary News page and on social media #FCJ200.
