Running to Make a Difference

running for CAFOD at this year’s Silverstone Run Fest

A group of FCJ Sisters, Companions in Mission and friends in England will be taking part in the Silverstone Run Fest for CAFOD on November 24th at the iconic Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. CAFOD has featured them on their facebook feed saying

We’re thrilled to have Sisters Faithful Companion of Jesus running for CAFOD at this year’s Silverstone Run Fest!

They are long-standing supporters. [FCJ Companion in Mission] Helen says: I’ve supported CAFOD for a long time, and their work is so important—raising awareness of social and environmental issues. I’m running to help continue their incredible efforts to make a difference globally.

A massive shoutout to them! You can sponsor their run and support our vital work through their Just Giving page

Helen CiM and Lynne fcJ did @ParkRun as part of their training for Silverstone. And the Lord Mayor of Liverpool was there to congratulate us at the end and as his support.

Sr MaryAnne fcJ: Today I managed to run 25 minutes without stopping. I am delighted! At the moment, I am running in the alley ways of Toronto near our FCJ community house. Quiet and with quite a few interesting trees and plants. Signs of the start of ‚Fall‘ are all around.

FCJ Companion in Mission Helen: Today was bittersweet as my youngest left for university and my house is now empty other than the cats. But what a difference a run makes. I amazed myself by steaming through week 4 run one despite the rain!
