Students at Genazzano FCJ College in Kew, Australia, celebrated Harmony Week. This is a nationally celebrated week in Australia that reminds everyone of the beauty of diversity and the strength found in unity. Harmony Weelk coincides with the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, 21 March.
The Gen Girls created a beautiful and refresing video in which they reflect on the importance of kindness, respect, and embracing their diverse community.
During the same week, the Year 9 Celebrating with Food students were busy bringing their family traditions to life! For their latest assessment, they created dishes that hold special meaning in their households—whether it’s a favorite meal shared at birthdays, cultural festivals, holidays, or cherished family gatherings.
Alongside their culinary creations for their assessment, students reflected on the significance of their chosen dish, its key ingredients, and the preparation process, all while creatively highlighting its sensory appeal. This task gave students the opportunity to explore the deep connection between food, culture, and celebration, transforming treasured family traditions into delicious masterpieces!
