This is a time of the year to give thanks for what has been… Watch this video to see how St Philomena School community is giving thanks. Thanks to Jen, Companion in Mission, for letting us know about it.
Every Tuesday evening since the first week of August, School Principal Mr. Brian Cordeiro has had a Community Meeting on Zoom for parents, faculty, and board members who wished to join. It was Brian’s way of keeping the parents informed about what was happening at school in regards to the pandemic, hybrid learning, etc.
On the Tuesday before US Thanksgiving, he called the meeting an Evening of Thanks & Giving. It was a way of thanking the teachers, parents etc for all their hard work this past semester, and to ask for donations if people could help. The video below was part of the evening. Many of the words towards the end of the video are in St Philomena School’s mission statement.
Usually, on the Saturday night before Thanksgiving, the school has had a big “Gala”, an auction and dinner which was a big fundraiser. Since the pandemic began, all of the fundraisers had to be cancelled. This zoom Evening of Thanks & Giving was a success!
