On Friday 4 October the FCJ Sisters in the Ende community, Indonesia, celebrated the closing of the Season of Creation in their convent. The event lasted for one and a half hours and the sisters were joined by young people from their base ecclesial community, three young women from Flores University, and students from eight local high schools. There were 78 people, plus three school teachers, the FCJs and the yooung women who are FCJ aspirants!
Sister Narni fcJ facilitated the activity. The group reflected on Genesis 1:1-31 in Thanksgiving for the gift of nature and shared with each other about their reflection. They also had a brief discussion about efforts they can make to preserve God’s creation. The gathering finished with a simple refreshment and the sisters gave a sansevieria plant in a recycled pot as a gift for those who want it (top photo).
