Samuda FCJ is a group of young people in Indonesia animated by the FCJ Sisters. They meet regularly and their December activity is usually an Advent recollection.
In the preparation to celebrate the Jubilee Year in 2025 the theme of the activity was Waiting for the coming of Christ in gratitude and hope of faith. It took place at Ndao beach with young people from the schools and universities of Ende, in the island of Flores.
This activity was carried out in two sessions. In the first session participants reflected on „Waiting (Advent) in the hope of faith.“ Through group games, participants are asked to help each other to gain new strength and certainty in looking at the future (life goals). After personal reflection they shared with the group about how their experience of faith transcended the challenges and rediscovered the hope.
The next session was “Sharing Blessings and Hope” and participants were asked to reflect personally and share with the group the blessings they have received from God within themselves and how his presence is a blessing and hope for others.
Participants enjoyed the sunny beach, close companionship with FCJ sisters, FCJ aspirants, teacher assistant, and other participants, ending with a closing prayer, group photos and a joyful lunch. As an action of concern for the environment, participants brought their own drinking water tumblers and seating mats.
