Helen, an FCJ Companion in Mission (CiM) from the Liverpool area, writes about the celebration of her recommitment as a CiM
Our plans for a September recommitment had to be rescheduled due to bad weather and the night of 16th October was another stormy night, but determined to make my recommitment this time I braved the rain and made the journey to Liverpool. It was a warm welcome I received from Srs Marguerite, Lynne, Maria and Ramona. Helen J CiM joined us and Sue CiM was able to join us on zoom.
The prayer service was on the theme of light, a much needed reminder of the light that shines in the darkness, and with the FCJ Sisters and CiM’s I became very aware through our sharing, of the light we carry and we share with each one another. I was grateful for the gentleness of the prayer service that evening and the joy of my recommitment. The hope and energy of our group revives my spirit and I was uplifted and blest by our meeting together.
I look forward to what the next six years bring as a Companion in Mission. Being a CiM has brought so much light and life into my life and my hope for the next six years is that I can be courageous in sharing the light Marie Madeleine [FCJ foundress] brought into this world which we continue to keep blazing!
In the sacred space we had a beacon light and individual lights representing each of the CiMs in our group. We also had the names of the wider CiM group here in Merseyside – the group in formation, as well as greetings from CiMs around the world. It was a simple reminder of being part of something bigger, and together through all our different lives, witnessing to the light and hope of God.
