Celebrating Venerable Marie Madeleine d’Houët —5 April 2010, Melbourne, Australia

Sacred Space Richmond.

Twelve came first on June 1st 1882 and on Easter Monday, 5 April 2010, twelve other FCJ sisters gathered at the Moonbria Avenue Community house to honour our Foundress, Marie Madeleine d’Houët on this 152nd anniversary of  her death.

This was an enriching experience as each one shared her reflections on Marie Madeleine and enjoyed the companionship and mutuality of our charism.  Many of the reflections came from the more recent writings on Marie Madeleine. These added spice gave us a new understanding renewed interest, and a thirst to learn more about this  woman who, throughout her life sought only to do what God wanted of her. This faithful response gradually made of her a holy woman whom we are privileged to claim as our own. We all loved the way the writings bring out this development of the human woman to the holy woman!

We would also like to acknowledge the debt of gratitude we owe to the “keepers of the story” for its preservation and development and for passing this on in many creative ways. (The photo shows the sacred space honouring Marie Madeleine.)

                                              Thank you to all concerned!

Our little Society has for its end
