Claire's visit to the Province of the Americas
... the consideration which comes first and has more weight is that about the body of the Society taken as a whole; for its union, good government, and preservation in well-being for greater divine glory are what is chiefly sought. (FCJ Constitutions 70)
Whatever helps toward the union of the members of this society among themselves and with their head will also help much toward preserving the well-being of the Society. (FCJ Constitutions 70)Mary Claire Sykes fcJ, our General Superior, visited the Province of the Americas during the month of October and into the first part of November.
We joyfully welcomed Claire who was available so generously for personal conversations and also for a community gathering.
The overall spirit of her visits was heart meeting heart, uplifting, strengthening, affirming! It was a wonderfully relaxed time and we enjoyed many a laugh as stories surfaced from past and present.
Claire celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving at Palmerston Avenue with the Toronto FCJs.
Claire's visit reminded us again of the great gift we have in being a part of the Body of the Society. We continue to keep Claire in our daily prayers.
Thank you, Claire!
