FCJ Spirituality Centre, Brussels, Belgium —  May 2010

Our FCJ Centre in Brussels is going from strength to strength and is greatly appreciated by an ever widening circle of participants coming from a variety of backgrounds.

To provide a window into how people see the work of the FCJ Centre we offer you the following extract from a letter received very recently:

“Thank you for providing such a wonderful retreat on Saturday 27th March. I was one of twenty four women you graciously welcomed into your beautiful home. The warmth of the hospitality and the well structured programme had a most wonderful effect on my body and soul. ……Thank you for taking the time to create such an event in our busy lives.”

To get a sense of our programme just look at our web site where you will see many elements of what we offer here at the FCJ Centre in Brussels.

In addition to events listed on our web site we facilitate groups by request and engage in spiritual accompaniment with people from all walks of life. We touch the lives of quite a number of people who work in the EU Institutions here in Brussels and offer support in many different ways especially to individuals and families struggling with a variety of issues relating to modern day living.

A further dimension of our programme relates to the business world and all those feeling the pressure of modern day. We are in the midst of serious planning for day events for the corporate world here in Brussels scheduled to start next September. The articulated need coming from the corporate group is time out for reflection and space for self. We have been working with Dermot Tredget OSB and a pilot group from the corporate world to put in place a workshop entitled ‘Restoring the Contemplative Dimension to my Life’ More about this soon.

We have a wonderful Management Advisory Committee (‘MAC’) who collaborate with us in the development of the Centre. Together we have pin-pointed five main focus areas regarding our mission here in Brussels: Adult Faith Development, Global Challenge, Spirituality in the Work Place, Social Justice, Parents and Families. Some of these focus areas  are reflected in our programme, others are in the pipe line.

May the FCJ Centre in Brussels continue going from strength to strength!
