School assembled on the steps in front of the school.FCJ Secondary School in Bunclody, Co. Wexford, Ireland has reached a milestone. This year they celebrate the 150th anniversary of the opening of the school.

It was on the 4th August 1861, that Reverend Mother Josephine Petit and Mother Marie de Bussy arrived from France to set up a school in the town.

On Tuesday, October 18th, to mark the occasion, the school community assembled outside on the steps to take a group photograph. Not an easy task as the day was blustery and showery.

Then the entire school community went down to the playing pitches where they were addressed by the Principal, Mrs. Threadgold.  She gave an accont of the coming of the sisters and a brief history of how the present school evolved from that time.
